AFTR Beta Privacy Notice
Beta policy draft · Version 2026-10-04-beta1. Operator identity, public support contact, and legal review must be finalized before a public launch.
Operator: Not yet configured for public launch. Contact: Use Settings → Contact beta support inside AFTR. Public contact details are pending.
What AFTR stores
The beta uses Supabase email/password sign-in. Supabase supplies an account identifier and email to authenticate requests. AFTR uses that identifier for your records; display profiles do not expose your sign-in email. We store profile fields you choose to save, uploaded photos, membership consent records, calculated age, city/state you confirm, optional availability, messages, blocks, reports, and support requests. Your date of birth is used to calculate age during joining and is not stored in the AFTR application database.
Who sees your information
Profiles are private by default. To appear in discovery, you must join the beta, opt in, and pass profile review. Other approved signed-in beta members can then see your display profile, age, bio, selected stats, optional identity labels, city/state, and approved photos. Optional device location is requested only when you press Use my location and your browser grants permission. Exact coordinates are processed on your device to suggest a nearby U.S. city, then discarded; AFTR does not receive or store them or track your location in the background. You can edit the suggestion before exploring or saving. Only a city/state you choose to save on your profile can be shared in discovery. Hiding your profile removes it from discovery; people in your existing conversations can still see the profile information associated with those conversations.
Photos remain private unless you submit them for sharing and they pass the configured photo review. When automatic screening is enabled, choosing Check and share sends the photo to Sightengine to check for nudity and explicit content. Photos that pass become eligible for sharing; flagged or uncertain photos remain hidden, and service errors leave photos private. Screening is automated and can make mistakes. Moderators can still remove photos following a report. A review is not identity verification or a guarantee of safety. Other people may save or photograph information you share; AFTR cannot recall those copies.
Sexual-health details
The dedicated sexual-health form is optional, private, and device-local. Values last in the session unless you choose “Remember health details on this device.” They are not sent to the profile server or displayed in discovery. Anyone with access to your browser profile may be able to read remembered values. Clear them using the health form or account deletion.
If you voluntarily include health or other sensitive information in your bio, messages, reports, or support requests, those fields are stored and shared according to the corresponding feature. Avoid sending medical records or identity documents. AFTR does not diagnose, verify health status, or match members by HIV status.
Messages, reporting, and moderation
Messages are stored in the beta database and available to the conversation participants. They are not end-to-end encrypted. Reports may include a copy of the reported message or profile content so authorized moderators can investigate. Moderators can review submitted profiles and photos, reported content, and support requests; suspend accounts; remove messages; and resolve reports. Moderators must handle this information confidentially. The beta is not staffed around the clock and is not an emergency service.
Hosting and third parties
Cloudflare provides hosting, application database, and photo storage; Supabase provides email/password authentication. Browser requests for fonts may reach Google Fonts. AFTR has no advertising or marketing analytics integration in this beta and does not sell data through its application. Hosting providers may maintain operational logs or backups under their own terms; their retention and processing arrangements must be reviewed before public launch. No payment information is collected by AFTR in the free beta.
Your controls and deletion
You can edit your profile, hide from discovery, remove photos, block members, submit a support request, and export your stored AFTR account data through Settings. Delete your AFTR account data to remove your profile, photos, membership, messages involving your account, blocks, reports associated with your account, and support requests from active application storage. Deletion also clears AFTR data in the browser where you perform it. Other devices, previously exported files, recipient copies, and host-managed backups are not automatically erased by clearing this browser. Deleting AFTR data does not delete your Supabase login account.
Retention and policy changes
The private beta retains active profiles and conversations until deletion or moderation removes them. Resolved report evidence and details are cleared by the resolution action. Expired temporary availability is not shown. Rate-limit records are removed when they age beyond recent action windows or when the account is deleted. A production retention schedule and privacy-rights process will be finalized before public launch. Material policy changes require renewed beta acceptance.
